Scary Night Author: Vince Submitted: 9/19/01 Location: London, England I was about 19; my parents were out visiting and I was alone in the house except for my dog called Lucky. He was called that because I found him abandoned and gave him a home however back to the story Sitting in the front room watching TV I suddenly noticed a shadow out of the corner of my eye. It unnerved me but I dismissed it as a trick of the light. However, two seconds later Lucky, who had been lying on the floor, suddenly and most violently started throwing himself in the air and baring his teeth at the same spot in the room. By now I was very scared and rushed next door to fetch my friend Tom who isn't frightend of anything. We walked around the house, after calming the dog down, and Tom declared it was nothing to be frightend of and after making fun of me left. Later that night I went to bed and fell in to a deep sleep. I awoke in the early hours of the morning, but found I was unable to move or open my eyes. Some people may think I dreamt this, but I can assure you I did not; I could hear everything around me. To say I was terrified would not do the situation justice and it was then that I heard someone or thing open the bedroom door. I heard Lucky growl, as he slept in the same room as me, when this person or whatever it was stopped at my bed side. Then I felt what I think was a cold hand on the side of my face, which sent a chill down my body. Then I heard footsteps leaving the room, as the door shut on this thing's departure I was suddenly able to open my eyes and move. I lept out of bed and in my shorts only ran around the house looking for what had touched my face, but found nothing. However this is not the end of the story. By now I was totaly freaked and decide to stay awake in my room and wait for my parents to come home. I was lying there for about 20 minutes listening to a little radio in some attempt to distract myself from the night's events when I heard a knock on my bedroom door. I knew there was nobody home except me. I became very scared but also angry at being harassed in this way. So, I opend the door and as I expected nothing was there. Again I walked around the house and found nothing...until I returned to my bedroom where I found my radio smashed on the floor. Later, when my parents returned, I told them about the events that had happend. My mum said she would make a cup of tea, but my dad looked very pale. When my mum was in the kitchen, my dad confided in me that he had a similar experience a couple of weeks earlier and made me promise never to tell my mum (so as not to frighten her). It was a promise I have kept to this day.
